Before You Come
Plan your hunt.
Everything you need to sort out between booking and the morning we meet you. If something here is not clear, call us — we would rather answer it now than at the trailhead.
Getting Here
Arrival & logistics
We meet you at the Pilot truck stop in Van Horn, Texas, by 12:00 noon Mountain Time the day before your hunt and take you out to the ranch from there.
Flying in? Fly into El Paso the day before so you can make the noon meet-up. Most hunters rent an SUV and drive to Van Horn — that way you have your own wheels if you fill out early and want to head home or do some sightseeing. Airport pickup can also be arranged. Either way, let us know your plan.
How It Runs
Your hunt days
After we meet in Van Horn, we check that you have everything and head for the ranch. Once you are settled in, we check the zero on your rifle, and if there is time we go out for an evening hunt.
The next three days are your scheduled hunt dates. You head out the morning after your last hunt day.
Javelina can be taken when available for an additional $300. Mountain lion and coyote can be taken on sight at no extra charge.
Camp
At the ranch
The accommodations are comfortable but Spartan — you will have everything you need, just not a lot of frills. Beds with sheets and blankets are provided, though some hunters bring a sleeping bag.
There is no cell service on the ranch except in a few remote spots. We carry satellite phones for emergencies. There is limited internet and, of all things, satellite TV.
All meals are cooked at the ranch, and there is an assortment of snacks on hand. Bring anything you think we might not have. The only thing not included is alcohol — pick it up in Van Horn on the way in, or bring your own.
After the Shot
Your trophy
We cape and freeze your hide for you to take home. A taxidermist is available on request.

What to Bring
Gear list
Our hunts take place in the mountains of West Texas, at 4,500 to 6,500 feet on rugged, rocky desert ground. We cover a lot of ground on four-wheelers, but this hunt can still be physically demanding — you will be glad you came in good shape. Temperatures run from 20 to 65 degrees. Shots average 150 to 400 yards.
